Antonio Norman LaRoche died on January 30th. He was the son of Norman and Evelyn LaRoche of Bristol and a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews who adored him. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with honors from Salve Regina University in Newport and worked caring for and teaching children, teens and adults with hearings loss and special needs in a number of educational settings in Rhode Island and Massachusetts including The Swansea Wood School, LIFE Inc and the Groden Center. He also worked as a CNA caring for the elderly in Bristol.
He is survived by his mother, Evelyn LaRoche; sisters Diane Selwyn, Ann Marie LaRoche and Nancy Caruso; brother Gaetano; seven nieces, two nephews and three great nephews and his companion David Morais.
Funeral services were held February 5th from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso in St. Elizabeth Church. Liturgical readings were by Anya LaRoche and Carolyn Caruso. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Allison Borges. The offertory gifts were presented by Christina Caruso, Sophia LaRoche and Catherine Caruso. The eulogy was given by Gaetano LaRoche and Diane Selwyn. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Gaetano LaRoche, Michael Borges, Ronald Borges, Joseph Selwyn, Mark Lawrence and Del Lawrence.
