Abilio Ferreira, 64, Florida

Abilio Ferreira, 64, of Live Oak Street NE, Palm Bay, Fla. and formerly of Roosevelt Drive, Bristol, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.
Born Jan. 8, 1948 in Fall River and a Bristol resident for most of his life, he was a son of the late Abilio G. and Beatrice (Fortin) Ferreira. Mr. Ferreira served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was a Master Electrician for 22 years for the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp., formerly in Portsmouth, and then was a self-employed electrician for several years before retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Cup Defenders Association, both in Bristol, and he loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, cars and watching old cowboy movies.
He leaves two sons, William J. Ferreira Sr. and his wife Rebecca of Riverside, and Brian N. Ferreira of Bristol and his former wife, Lois A. (Castigliego) Ferreira of Bristol; and three grandchildren, Haillee, William J. Jr. and Nicholas E. Ferreira. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Ash Marcello.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18 from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, with a Mass of  Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are Saturday morning only from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
