He was employed by the former Prevost’s Market, Tiverton, was deli manager for A & P Supermarkets and store manager and then auditor for Cumberland Farms. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Sergeant Brodeur served in Germany. He was a St. Theresa Parish Eucharistic Minister, past president of the Retail Clerks Union and a member of the Royal Travelers. He enjoyed family gatherings and caring for his granddaughters.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves three children, Paul Brodeur of Tiverton, Diane Morin and her husband Edmund of Westport and Robert Brodeur and his wife Julie of Coventry, RI; two granddaughters, Allison and Samantha, both of Coventry; sisters, Beatrice Ouellette of Northbridge, Mass., Doris Helger of Tiverton and Germaine Brodeur of Wentzville, Mo.; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Gelinas) Brodeur; the brother of the late Theresa Sleeper, Juliette Conway, Rose Cote-Teal and Louise, Alfred, Gerard and Albert Henri “Butch” Brodeur and the uncle of the late Kevin Brodeur.
His funeral was Saturday, Dec. 29 at 9 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m.. Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 appreciated.
