Rescue workers  rushed to the Mt. Hope Bridge just before 9 a.m. Tuesday for a worker who fell approximately 30 feet from scaffolding while working on the bridge. Crews organized at the base of the bridge below Roger Williams University, where the worker fell over land. Bristol fire and rescue officials said the worker was in Code 1 status (critical) when they arrived, and they were working to load him on a rigid stretcher. They transported him to Rhode Island Hospital at about 9:13 a.m.
