WESTPORT — Work to fix damage done by the spring floods of 2010 requires closing a stretch of Drift Road between Route 88 and Hixbidge Road in Westport starting on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The project involves repairs to the bridge and culvert at the Sam Tripp Brook crossing. The at stone bridge, built in the 1800s, sustained serious structural damage during the record rains of March, 2010. Work is expected to take four to five weeks to complete.
