Westport Flotilla 6-18 will be offering a Safe Boating Course entitled About Boating Safety starting on March 19. Enrollment is now open and all interested boaters of all ages are encouraged to attend.
The course will be held Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westport Fire Department, 54 Hix Bridge Road. Fee for course and materials is $35.

“It’s extremely important to get the Safe Boating message out,” said Tom Chamberlin, flotilla commander.
“But it’s even more important for us to realize that boating statistics aren’t just numbers. They were friends, parents, spouses, sons, and daughters. Hold your loved ones accountable and make sure they take the right steps to come home safely.”
He added that First District statistics confirm that boating courses contribute measurably to safety on the water.
