At 6:30 p.m. ext Wednesday, Sept. 19, Mr. Jamiel will present a large collection of memorabilia from and about the Battle of the Bulge during a ceremony at the George Hail Library. His collection of writings, books, articles, and artifacts from the war — including a Nazi flag, US field kits, helmets and other items — will be on long-term loan “so people can learn about it,” he said Friday.
He knows of what he speaks. Mr. Jamiel was a young soldier attached to the 7th Armored Division, 38th Armored Infantry Battalion, Company B, when the battle, also known as the Ardennes offensive broke out in December 1944.
