Warren police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate two strong-arm robberies that have occurred in Warren over the past week.
On May 8 at 2:46 p.m., police responded to the Launder N’ Luxury at 139 Main St. for a reported robbery. A clerk told them that a light skinned black male approached the cash register and asked a clerk for change.When the clerk opened the drawer, the man grabbed her arm and reached into the cash drawer, grabbing an undetermined amount of cash, and fled from the store. Workers described him as being in his mid-20s , standing over 6’2”, with a skinny to medium build. They said he was clean shaven, wore a grey hooded sweatshirt, a grey fitted baseball cap, blue fishing gloves, blue jean shorts with faded pockets and white Nike sneakers.
The next incident occurred on Wednesday, May 14, after police got a call at 12:50 p.m. about a robbery at the Super Mart at 747. A clerk advised police that a black man, with the same build, approximately the same age and wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, a dark colored chino style cap and blue fishing style gloves, entered the store and asked to change a bill. When the clerk opened the cash drawer he was struck with a wooden stick. The subject took an undetermined amount of cash from the drawer and fled the store. The clerk received minor injuries to his face and was treated at the scene by Warren Rescue.
