Warren police said Jesse W. Lewis, 33, of 175 Water St., was noticeably intoxicated when he showed up at Warren police headquarters at about midnight Sunday, July 28. He went in the front door, approached the dispatch area and started banging doors and yelling before wandering outside and heading up toward Main Street. Officers heard the commotion and followed him outside, where they say he appeared highly intoxicated. He was belligerent and uncooperative, officers noted. After refusing to quiet down police took him into custody and brought him back to the station. There, they said he continued to act belligerently even as he was put into a cell. Ultimately police charged Mr. Lewis with simple assault or battery, vandalism/malicious injury to property, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct (fighting/tumultuous behavior) and disorderly conduct (indecent exposure/exposing his genitals).
He was arraigned Monday, pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance.
