Warren police logs: Snow causes headaches days after storm

A Vernon Street resident reported that someone broke into his garage and tried to steal his snowblower.

Police were called out to Market Street for two neighbors arguing about snow removal.

A Metacom Avenue man reported that someone broke into his garage and stole his generator.

Police were called to Child Street for a tenant/landlord dispute.

Evan Simmons, 20, of Providence, was arrested on a Newport warrant for larceny under $500, a misdemeanor.

Police towed a car on State Street at the request of the DPW; a plow was unable to complete the street because of it. DPW workers asked for similar help on Jefferson Street and Washington Street.

Someone complained about snow removal at Kinnicutt and Buffalo avenues.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

A Water Street resident complained about a noisy garbage truck at 5:13 a.m.

Police were called out to an argument between a man and woman at a bus stop on Main Street.

A Child Street man reported the theft of an item from his car. Police did not elaborate.

Robert L. Gervais, 26, of 13 Child St., Apt. B, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court.

Wednesday, Feb. 13

A Child Street resident complained about the noise coming from workers removing snow at 6:24 a.m.

Thursday, Feb. 14

Police were called to a Kickemuit Road home but made no arrests.

A Cedar Lane resident complained about a loud argument in an adjacent home. It turned outto be kids playing in the area.

Friday, Feb. 15

A Joseph Drive resident complained that a neighbor shoveled his entire driveway’s worth of snow out into the street. Police arrived and told the man that wasn’t acceptable.

Items were reported stolen from a car parked on Union Street.

Loose goats and chickens were spotted wandering around Child Street.

Wire was reported stolen on Everett Street.

A Union Street woman told police her boyfriend took her car without permission and hadn’t returned it.

Saturday, Feb. 16

An erratic driver was reported on Metacom Avenue.

Police were called to a domestic disturbance on Canario Drive.

A Metacom Avenue woman who was concerned about her neighbor’s strange behavior called the police. There was no elaboration.

Sunday, Feb. 17

A car was reported driving erratically on Federal Street.

A Ridgeway Drive man complained after spotting two men in a gray Dodge soliciting snow removal work in the neighborhood.

Police assisted a man who locked himself out of his idling car on Parker Avenue.s
