Warren police logs: Off-roaders and drunk drivers

Police were called to Wood Street for a neighborhood dispute that started when a car belonging to one of those involved leaked a small amount of oil onto the pavement.

Police got another call about a neighborhood dispute, this time on Main Street. No leaked oil involved this time, just landscaping — no further information given by police.

Loose livestock were called in on Touisset Road.

Leonard A. Paiva, 63, of 71 Birchswamp Road, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and resisting arrest, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 4:54 p.m.

A man and woman were spotted arguing at Metacom and Child at 8:47 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

A Seymour Street resident reported receiving harassing telephone calls.

A woman reported being pushed by a man on Water Street. She complained of chest pains.

Wednesday, Jan. 9

A Kickemuit Village resident complained that an upstairs neighbor was making too much noise.

A caller reported a hunter on Asylum Road.

A Child Street woman told police she’d received harassing telephone calls.

A Patience Lane woman asked for a police officer to speak to her son about BB gun safety.

Thursday, Jan. 10

A caller reported four dogs fighting with another animal on Meadow Street. 34

Irwin Jaiobowitz, 65, of Barrington, was charged with vandalism/malicious injury to property.

Tenants in a Birchswamp Road apartment were reported arguing.

Jeffrey T. Dantas, 45, of Seekonk, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

Mary Beth Wilson, 51, of 18 Asylum Road, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

A Davis Street woman reported the violation of a temporary restraining order.

The animal control officer got a call about cats abandoned on Union Street. 40

Friday, Jan. 11

Karissa N. Nadeau, 21, of Lincoln, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense (BAC .15 or greater), possession of marijuana, first offense, and driving while in possession of controlled substances, after police pulled her over at Arlington and Metacom avenues at 1:38 a.m.

A Cutler Street woman reported being stalked.

Police got a report that kids were playing on thin ice at the bottom of Brown Street.

Two separate harassing text message calls came in, from Union and Child streets.

Police got a call about a drunk driver on Metacom Avenue. They checked it out but there was no problem.

A disobedient child call came in from Main Street.

Saturday, Jan. 12

A man came in to police headquarters to talk about a child custody issue.

A Davis Street man said he was threatened.

Items were stolen from a car parked on Child Street.

Police got a call about a drunk driver on Market Street. They checked it out but there was no problem.

People were spotted off-roading on Chace Avenue.

Someone tried to pass a fake ID at a Main Street establishment.

Sunday, Jan. 13

Police got a call that a man with a shotgun was walking along the bike path off Asylum Road. It wwas probably a hunter, the officer stated.

Police got a call about a drunk driver on Market Street, but it came to nothing.

Off-road trucks were reported on Chace Avenue.
