A Truman Avenue woman complained that a car was blocking her driveway.

Police dispersed a woman who was going through trash bags on Wood Street.

A loose dog call came in from Harris Avenue.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

A resident on Federal Street complained about barking dogs.

Fire crews went out to Barton Avenue for a home with water in the basement, likely from burst pipes suffered in the extreme cold.

Police went out to a property disagreement on Vernon Street.

A Davis Street resident called police after “suspicious” people claiming to be from the fire department knocked on her door. The police showed up but chose not to arrest Fire Chief Alexander Galinelli and Warren Building Inspector William Nash, who were who they said they were.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

Kala J. Garvin, 30, of 510 Child St., Apt. 411A, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct, after her mother called police to say she had been assaulted.

Thursday, Jan. 9

A purse was reported stolen from a Metacom Avenue establishment.

More water damage was reported at a building on Railroad Avenue.

Jewelry was reported stolen from a Market Street.

A caller reported smelling heavy smoke downtown.

Friday, Jan. 10

An injured swan was reported on Market Street, and a state wildlife official came and retrieved the animal.

Rebecca Lynne Taunton, 31, of 69 Union St., was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting. 14-8

Saturday, Jan. 11

An officer found and removed a Christmas tree from the middle of Wilbur Avenue.

Someone found a wallet on Child Street and turned it in.

Sunday, Jan. 12

Fire crews went to Patterson Avenue after a tree limb brushed into a high tension wire and burst into flame. Town officials also called in National Grid.

Two juveniles, age 14 and 17, were charged with vandalism/malicious injury to property after police said they damaged a fence at Child Street and Fern Drive.

A lawn ornament was reported stolen from a Bagy Wrinkle Cove lawn. 44-of

Matthew J. Thurber, 20, of Bristol, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

Police were called to Union Street to keep the peace.
