Election day has come and gone, and Thanksgiving is fast approaching. That means just one thing in Warren: It’s almost time to celebrate the holidays.
Marilyn Mathison, who has been the driving force behind the Warren Holiday Festival since its inception, is starting to organize for the 2012 edition of the festival, now in its 24th year. Though it takes many months every year to set up the event, things really kick into gear the first few weeks of November as performers, bands and organizations are contacted and invited to participate.
Last year’s festival drew several thousand people to downtown Warren, and Ms. Mathison said then that it was one of the best events in recent years. This year, she’s hoping to make it even better, and is looking for a bit of help:
Ms. Mathison said that anyone with ideas to improve the festival, or add new attractions, musicians, performers and the like, or who wants to get involved, can feel free to call her. She’s also accepting donations to defray the cost of the festival, and asked that people who are able to help should also call.
