The Warren Fire Department and Harbor Patrol were among a number of agencies to respond to a boating accident Sunday afternoon that left a woman injured. At approximately 3:30 p.m., a boat carrying a man and a woman ran aground at the Conimicut Lighthouse off Warwick, according to a Coast Guard case report. The woman was taken off the boat by Warwick emergency medical services, though boats from Warren, Barrington and other towns were also called out. Before being taken in, however, the woman called her son who subsequently tried to swim to the lighthouse from Nayatt Point in Barrington, though he could not make it and had to turn back.
