plowstuckA sizable snowstorm is headed our way, but the man in charge of fighting the storm in Warren worries about one thing more: The cold that will follow.

Warren DPW director John Massed has instituted a parking ban starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, meaning that all cars must be moved from on-street parking spaces to allow plows to pass. But on Thursday morning he said the real worry from this storm could be the cold weather that follows.

Though his crews will salt and treat the town’s roads, “that salt is only good down to 22 degrees and they are predicting single digit temps Friday and Saturday.”

Translation? Drive carefully.

In all, the storm is expected to dump about nine inches of snow on the region before moving out Friday morning.
