Two teams share lead at CVS Caremark Charity Classic

BARRINGTON – Two teams sit on top of the leaderboard after Monday’s first round of the 2014 CVS Caremark Charity Classic. FedExCup points leader Jimmy Walker and Peter Jacobsen and defending champions Bo Van Pelt and Steve Stricker, finished at 9-under-par 62, one stroke ahead of Bill Haas and tournament co-host Billy Andrade. Hot on their heels at  7-under-par are the PGA teams of Russell Henley and Harris English and Hunter Mahan and Jason Dufner.

Closest to the Pin

Adding an exciting element to the tournament’s charitable component, Monday’s Closest-to-the-pin contest was won by Lexi Thompson with, 9’ 5”, on hole, 17, and earned, $25,000, for the Brain Injury Association of Rhode Island, the tournament’s charity partner with which she was paired.
