BARRINGTON – Traffic at the intersection of Sowams Road and Christine Drive was brought to a standstill for a few minutes Monday afternoon after storm winds brought down a large tree limb, which also pulled down a street light on its descent.

A few smaller limbs were cut from the larger limb before it twas pulled out of the road by a police humvee.

A neighbor said he didn’t hear the tree come down but saw the police lights. He also said the same spot was problematic during Irene last summer.
