Westport residents have until Monday April 8, to express their opinions about the future of Westport in an online survey.
The Planning Board announced the extension from March 31 to accommodate more residents. Over 1300 people have responded so far.
As part of the process of updating the town’s 2004 Master Plan, the Westport Planning Board and the Master Plan Committee say they need resident input to begin to shape the future direction of Westport. A master plan reflects a community-wide consensus of the direction the town wants for the future. The 2004 Master Plan is available on-line at www.westport-ma.com. Residents can complete the survey online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WESTPORT_MP
This survey is the first step for the Master Plan update. The update will include assessments of existing resources and issues, projections of future conditions and needs, and consideration of collective goals and desires. The Master Plan will be developed with community input over three years.
“Your input is critical to this process. Please take a few minutes to share your opinions by completing this survey. The results will help our elected and volunteer community leaders begin to develop recommendations to shape the future growth of the town,” the groups said in a press release. For answers to questions about completing the survey, contact the Planning Board at 508-636-1037.
