Tiverton police: Cigarette smoke leads to suspect

Wednesday, Oct. 10

At 7:09 a.m., John Kazen, 30, of 174 Main Road, Tiverton, turned himself in to police and was charged under a Sept. 23 warrant for disorderly conduct and domestic assault for allegedly head-butting a woman.

Friday, Oct. 12

At 11:13 p.m., the owner of a car on Preservation Way, from which items had just been stolen, smelled cigarette smoke, spotted a man nearby. When approached, the man ran away. Police arrived, gave chase, and caught Joseph Biancheri, 23, of West Haven, Connecticut. They charged him with larceny under $1,500.
