‘The Nutcracker’ coming to Mt. Hope High School

Festival Ballet’s Dylan Giles and senior dancer Brittany Cavaco of East Providence rehearse the roles of the king and queen at Ballet Prestige in Barrington in preparation for Ballet Prestige’s “The Nutcracker” performances in Bristol on Dec. 8 and 9.

Ballet Prestige, a Russian style ballet studio located in Barrington under the direction of Vera Kurmasheva and Zhanat Baidaralin, will bring “The Nutcracker” to life in two performances at Mt. Hope High School on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9.

The ballet will feature a number of East Bay dancers, including Bristol’s Thomas Curran (Nutcracker Prince) and Isoke Samuel (sugar plum), Barrington’s Marissa Magnelli (Chinese dance), and East Providence’s Brittany Cavaco (the queen) and a guest performance by Festival Ballet’s Dylan Giles. Mara Lynn Canfield and Cameron Burgess will perform the role of Clara.

The Saturday show takes the stage at 6 p.m., while Sunday’s performance starts at noon.

Tickets, available at the door and online at www.balletprestige.com, are $20 for adults and $12 for children.
