The largest full moon of 2013 appeared through a stretch of clouds on Sunday night.

Clouds rolled in and put a bit of a damper on seeing the “supermoon” for space enthusiasts on Sunday night. The so-called “supermoon” occurs when the moon arrives at perigee, the point in its orbit when it’s closest to the Earth, during its full phase, according to space.com. Despite the cloud cover, these photos were able to be taken in Portsmouth on Sunday night.
