PORTSMOUTH — Firefighters are used to saving cats stuck in trees. But an electrical worker trapped in a cherry-picker?
That was indeed the scenario late Thursday morning. An employee of Henderson Electrical was in the process of changing light bulbs in the parking lot at Clements’ Marketplace when the vehicle he was using experienced a hydraulic failure.
Ladder 1 and Car 2 from the Fire Department were dispatched to the East Main Road store at 11:31 a.m.
The man was not in any distress and Lt. William Ethier and firefighter Robert Malione were able to remove him and bring him to the ground without incident, according to Deputy Chief Michael P. O’Brien. Firefighters also cleaned up a small hydraulic fluid spill, he said, and units left the scene at 11:55 a.m.
