Sowams School hosted its annual October Festival last saturday afternoon.

The event, which serves as an important fund-raiser for the school’s parent-teacher organization, featured fun and games for children of all ages.

The day included hair beading, pony rides, a moon bounce, an obstacle course, nail and face painting, tattoos, mystery bags, cookie decorating, karoake and a home run derby contest in addition to a silent auction and raffles.

Event chairwoman Deborah Sheehan said the event was a success and in a letter to the editor thanked numerous individuals and groups for their participation.
