Shelters set up in Barrington, Bristol

By   /   February 9, 2013  /   2 Comments

EAST BAY — Rudimentary shelters have been set up in the towns of Barrington and Bristol in an attempt to help those residents without heat or electricity get through what is expected to be a very cold Saturday evening.

The Primrose School in Barrington and Mt. Hope High School in Bristol have each been opened as make-shift shelters. Neither has many supplies. Those who need to take refuge are asked to bring with them they can.

Bristol, the town, should invest some money into shelter materials such as the cots generators etc. I had read elsewhere that the Firemen’s wives auxiliary (sorry if I got that wrong) had initiated this and considering all the power outages the area has had over the last two years it is a great idea. Thanks to the people who started this.

The Bristol Fire Department Ladies Auxillary do run the Shelters. They do an awesome job for those in need. They do have supplies but can always help. If you are interested in helping I am sure they will be interested, just contact the Fire Department Administration office.
