A community theater. Redeveloping the Robin Rug factory. Sidewalks along Metacom Avenue.
All these suggestions – and dozens more – will be weaved into the town’s 10-year comprehensive plan due by the end of 2014.
Organizer Diana Campbell counted about 130 participants engaged in the Visions for Bristol forum, a two-night brainstorming event held in the basement of St. Mary’s Church earlier this month. The final night of the forum, Sept. 25, revealed participants’ desires for the future of Bristol.
“The feedback was very positive, with most of (the participants) saying how much (they) enjoyed meeting new people and discussing (their) ideas about the town,” Campbell said in a follow-up email.
About 47 people signed on to help Community Development Director Diane Williamson draft the comprehensive plan, but more are needed, Campbell said.
Those interested in participating need to submit a written request by Oct. 11 to Ms. Williamson, ℅ Town Hall, 10 Court St., or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ms. Campbell will be presenting a final report about the Vision for Bristol forum to the Planning Board on Nov. 12, and to the Town Council on Nov. 20.
