“Our new school photographer failed to show up to photograph the graduates,” he told parents in an e-mail sent out Tuesday. “I feel just terrible that this happened and have expressed my displeasure to O’Connor Studios.”
In a letter to the school, Jack O’Connor, president of Commencement Photos Inc., took full responsibility for the mix-up. “This slipup was entirely our mistake and in no way a reflection on Portsmouth (High School) administration. Please accept our sincere apology,” Mr. O’Connor wrote.
The studio wants to make amends, however. All seniors are invited to come to the new school gym between 10 a.m. and noon on Friday, June 14, to stand with Mr. Littlefield in cap and gown for their official graduation portrait. “O’Connor Studios will send each graduate a free package of photos as a gesture of good faith,” Mr. Littlefield said in the e-mail.
If a student’s gown was ruined in Friday’s rain, don’t worry; the school has extras. “Please take us up on this offer,” Mr. Littlefield said. “It won’t take long and you will have a photo you will be proud of for a long, long time.”
