Local public school superintendents decided to pull the plug on classes Friday due to the impending winter storm.

Public schools in Barrington, Bristol-Warren, East Providence, Little Compton, Portsmouth and Tiverton all joined many other Rhode Island districts in canceling Friday’s classes. Little Compton also canceled the chicken parmesan dinner Friday.

Several private schools also won’t be open Friday: Montessori Center of Barrington and St. Luke School in Barrington; Aquidneck Island Christian Academy in Middletown; Bradley School and Sacred Heart School in East Providence; and Montessori School of the Angels in Westport.
