Chris Ramsden, shown here at a candidates forum in October, said he will miss the people.

The Barrington School Committee bid farewell to one of its own Tuesday night when out-going member Chris Ramsden sat for his final meeting.

Mr. Ramsden was elected to the School Committee in a special election two years ago though his bid for a full-term fell short earlier this month. He finished last among five candidates seeking three seats.

School committee member Scott Fuller, who served as chairman of Tuesday’s meeting in Patrick Guida’s absence, began the evening by thanking Mr. Ramsden. Mr. Fuller said the school committee can meet as much as twice a week and he wanted to acknowledge Mr. Ramsden’s hard work.

“Your perspective will be sorely missed,” Mr. Fuller said.

School Superintendent Michael Messore concurred. He thanked Mr. Ramsden on behalf of the administration. He said administrators have learned a lot during Mr. Ramsden’s tenure.

Mr. Ramsden said he enjoyed working with his school committee colleagues. He also praised the district’s administration, a group he described as intelligent and hard-working.

“They do a great job for the district and they will continue to do a great job,” Ms. Ramsden said.

Overall, Mr. Ramsden said he will miss the people.

“It’s a tremendous group,” he said.

When asked if he will still be around, Mr. Ramsden said of course.

“It’s been a pleasure,” Mr. Ramsden said after Mr. Fuller and Mr. Messore’s remarks.

Mr. Ramsden was given a round of applause by those in attendance, as was Paula Dominguez. Ms. Dominguez will join the school committee in a couple weeks. She finished third in the race for school committee.
