East Providence Career and Tech students vie in national automotive event

DEARBORN, MICH. — The East Providence Career and Technical Center team consisting of Mike Pierce and Noel Fournier recently participated in the Ford AAA National Competition.

The competition took place on the front lawn of the Ford Motor Company World Headquarters. Two students representing every state took part in the competition. Michael and Noel, the winners of the Rhode Island competition, were able to debug a 2013 Ford Explorer in 63 minutes giving them a 20th place finish in the National Competition.

“The East Providence Career and Technical Center is proud of Michael and Noel’s accomplishments,” said EPCTC Instructor Joe Barroso, who attended the event with his students. “We would like to thank Alex Castergini and the staff at Tasca Ford Lincoln Mercury of Seekonk for supporting our students.”
