BHS girls’ field hockey defeats Bay View

The Barrington High School girls’ field hockey team is heading to the Rhode Island Division I semi-finals after defeating St. Mary Academy Bay View by 1-0 Thursday afternoon.

The game’s lone goal came off the stick of sophomore forward Elizabeth Dolan about mid-way through the second half. Freshman mid-fielder Julia Soares contributed the assist.

The victory marks the second consecutive year Barrington has Bounced Bay View from the playoffs by a 1-0 score. The Eagles also defeated the Bengals twice during the regular season.

Barrington will now play the winner of Lincoln School versus Lincoln High School at Cranston Stadium at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3.
