The Barrington-Portsmouth girls’ hockey co-op will skate its final regular season game Monday night and head coach Deneen Stebenne said her group is playing well with playoffs on the horizon.

The team won both of its games last weekend including a 3-2 victory over Lincoln-Cumberland on Saturday and a 3-1 victory over the Cranston co-op.

Barrington enters its Monday match with Lincoln-Cumberland on a five game winning streak with a league record of 12-3-1. The Eagles haven’t lost since a 6-2 defeat to the Warwick co-op on Jan. 27.

Though the Eagles opponet in the state semi-finals has yet to be determined, Stebenne said the team is coming together at the right time. Attendance problems from earlier this season are a thing of the past, Stebenne said, and the group is healthy.

“We’ve got stuff pretty much in place,” she said.

“Right now we’re looking really good.”

The Eagles first two playoff games are Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2. Face-off have not yet been set.

Barrington-Portsmouth enters the tournament as defending state champs.
