Barrington High School homecoming fair will benefit RI Hospice

Barrington High School will celebrate homecoming this weekend and along with a parade, floats and a football game Friday night, a student-led fund-raiser is scheduled to make sure there is something for everyone.

The high school’s first annual homecoming fair was held last fall. The event is organized by the school’s Interact Club though it features participation from a variety of school groups.

Debora Deese, Interact Club advisor, said this year’s event has something for all ages. The art club will be providing temporary tattoos, while the foreign language club will prepare an international menu. The FBLA will be on hand to sell Eagles merchandise while the Interact Club will host a pumpkin bean bag toss.

Last year, all proceeds of the event went toward a pair of local shelters. This year, Ms. Deese said, all proceeds will be donated to Rhode Island Hospice in honor of John Gray, the former long-time high school principal who passed away earlier this year.

“We really appreciate the support of the community,” Ms. Deese said.

The fair is set to begin around 6:30 p.m. and will last through the third quarter of the football game.
