Barrington freshman Emma McMillan finished third in Saturday’s New England Cross Country Championship.
The Eagles were among 30 teams to take part in the race from six states – Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Barrington finished with 75 total points, 57 ahead of second-place finisher Coe-Brown, of New Hampshire.
The closest Rhode Island school to Barrington was LaSalle Academy, which finished in fourth.
The Eagles’ top runner was freshman Emma McMillan, who finished third overall with a time of 19:07.13.
Barrington placed two other runners in the top 25, including Abigail Livingston in 15th and Megan Verner-Crist in 25th.
The victory comes less than one week after McMillan won the state individual crown and Barrington the state team chamionship.
The Eagles will race again the weekend after Thanksgiving in Regionals. The top two teams at that meet will qualify for Nationals.
