Barrington High School boys’ track finishes dual meet slate at 9-1

The Barrington High School boys’ indoor track team ended its regular season dual meet schedule with an impressive showing Monday night.

The Eagles defeated Mt. Pleasant, Providence Country Day and Wheeler 92-15, 95-12 and 98-10, respectively. The meet featured a number of standout individual performances for Barrington including senior thrower Charlie Ionata who once again broke his own school record in the weight throw (75’2.75”).

Ionata was followed by sophomore Adam Kelly (66’4.5”), freshman Robert Calontonio (53’2”) and sophmore Michael Alvernaz (49’8.25”), all of whom posted personal bests.

Kelly (38’1.25”) and Alvernaz (36’2.25”) also posted personal bests in the shot put, which Ionata won.

Senior Christian Egglin added a personal best 1:32.4 in the 600 while senior Alexander Richardson posted a personal best of 38.7 in the 300.

In the long jump, sophmore James Heinl had a personal best 16’5” while freshman Thomas Richardson had a personal best of 15’8.25”.

The Eagles finish the regular season with a 9-1 dual meet record.
