On Thursday night, the Barrington School Committee decided to move forward with plans to honor Mr. Gray through the high school auditorium.
High school principal Joe Hurley said several ideas had been raised as possible tributes for Mr. Gray, including an athletic field, the library or the school itself.
Ultimately, however, Mr. Hurley said the school improvement team felt the auditorium would be most appropriate. Mr. Gray is said to have rarely if ever missed a performance in the auditorium, which was where parents and students first met the former long-time principal during orientation.
Details of the tribute’s exact form are expected to be brought back before the school committee in the future.
