The holidays are a very special time of year at Macomber School.  We have several opportunities for our students to learn about giving and the true meaning of this season.

Our “Giving Tree” is decorated with an assortment of items that are donated to a local shelter.  Last year the donations from Macomber families were able to fill an entire van!  Students are also showing their kindness by bringing in hearts that have statements of how they have “given” to others.

Our Kindergarten students will be performing a holiday show where they will participate by singing various holiday songs.  During our “Winter Wonderland,” sponsored in part by Lees Supermarket, the school transforms into a bustling, magical place with festivities including cookie decorating and ornament-making.

Our staff have done a phenomenal job infusing these themes into our curriculum.  As an NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited school, we must not only follow the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum, but also the ten standards set forth by NAEYC that focus on developmentally appropriate practice.  Macomber School is truly making early childhood educational success.
