Adding to the dismal timing of the expected arrival of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Sandy is the fact that it comes a week before election, a time when yards and roadsides are packed with thickets of campaign signs.
Since these signs are temporary and poorly secured, they will be among the first things to become to be uprooted.
From Massachusetts Congressman William Keating comes this bit of good storm advice: “Please be aware that, during major weather events, lawn signs have a tendency to become airborne. If you wouldn’t mind, take a moment to pull down your sign and put it back up when the storm passes.”
A sign that smashes a neighbor’s window probably won’t score any points for that candidate.Add to favorites
