The Bristol Warren Regional School District and community group Thrive by Five hosted a Resource Fair Saturday to highlight The family services available to the community, and provide some family fun as well.
Members of Thrive by Five, the school district’s Family Resource Center and other social organizations were on hand to answer parents’ questions and point them toward the organization that can best meet whatever family needs they have. About 400 adults and at least as many kids attended the fair last Saturday at Hugh Cole School in Warren, according to Patricia Brissette, coordinator of the school district’s Family Resource Center.
The fair included activities for all family members to enjoy while finding the resources they need. Kids explored fire trucks and watched a car excavation demonstration and an owl presentation by the Audubon Society. Bristol Police were on hand to conduct child seat safety checks and teach parents how to properly install the seats. The Bristol Theatre Company performed, and there were yoga and Zoomba demonstrations, to go with face painting, fingerprinting and all kinds of kid-friendly activities.
