Portsmouth Police: Shot fired after Christmas visit

Friday, Dec. 21

Laura E. Johnston, 38, of 23 Slate Road, Portsmouth, was arrested on a bench warrant at 10:28 p.m.

Called to Bayview Apartments at 5:50 p.m. for a report that a driver had run through a snow fence, police charged Christian W. Myers, 70, of 2121 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with drunk driving, .15 or greater, and damaging the snow fence.

Michael J. Cosgrove, 36, of 1311 East Main Road, Portsmouth, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct after allegedly punching out a window pane during a dispute.

Saturday, Dec. 22

After she was pulled over on Middle Road, Laura A. Nasser, 18, of 746 Bristol Ferry Road, Portsmouth, was charged at 3:29 a.m. with underage possession of alcohol. Police found beer in the trunk of her car.

Monday, Dec. 24

Lawrence A. Smoske, 55, of 109 Point Road, Portsmouth, was charged with being a fugitive from justice after he was found in his boat at Pirate Cove Marina.

Tuesday, Dec. 25.

An armed  3:48 p.m. Christmas day visit to his ex-girlfriend’s house led to a number of charges against Sean A. Walsh, 47, of Berkley, Mass. Police say a woman awoke from a nap to find him in the house carrying a shotgun inside his jacket. She told him to leave and a short time later heard the sound of a gunshot. Police found Mr. Walsh at the home of a friend on Norseman Drive. They charged him with firing a gun in a compact area, carrying a weapon while intoxicated, carrying a prohibited weapon (he also had two knives) and violation of a no-contact order.

Friday, Dec. 28

After being stopped at 1:21 a.m. for a tail light out, Judy Lynn Curtis, 41, of Fall River, was charged with marijuana possession and driving with a foreign license while her license was suspended.
