Portsmouth Police: Headbutt accusation leads to arrest

Tuesday, Dec. 11

An attempted breaking and entering was reported on Holliston Avenue.

Thursday, Dec. 13

Police were called to the Sakonnet River Bridge at 5:40 a.m. by people complaining of construction noise  before the 7 a.m. start time. Crews agreed to wait.

Friday, Dec. 14

David M. Silvia, 57, of Exeter, was charged at 11:14 p.m. with domestic breaking and entering, drunk driving and refusing a chemical breath test. A woman reported that he had entered her garage. Police found his vehicle a short distance away and determined that he had been drinking.

Saturday, Dec. 15

Jason M. Gustafson, 31, of North Providence, was charged with domestic trespass and making domestic harassing phone calls after he was arrested at 10:18 p.m. by North Providence police on a Portsmouth warrant . A woman said he had called her incessantly.

Sunday, Dec. 16

After a woman reported that he had head-butted her, police charged Nathaniel I Carleton, 25, of 52 Maniton Drive, Portsmouth, with domestic assault at 8:06 p.m.
