Portsmouth Police: Boston terrier heist


Thursday, Nov. 8

Nicole Cable, 26, of Providence, was arrested at 1 p.m. on a bench warrant from Second Division District Court for failure to appear.

Friday, Nov. 9

At 12:10 a.m., Frank Brotherton, 58, of Bristol, was charged with drunk driving and marijuana possession.  He was stopped on the Portsmouth side of the Mount Hope Bridge after police there were alerted to a hit and run accident that had just happened in Bristol. His car had minor front-end damage.

Jay Catalan, 50 of 34 Hilldale Road, Portsmouth, was charged with domestic larceny at 6 p.m. A woman reported that there had been a dispute and that he had left with her Boston terrier dog. He was found with the dog at the Founders Brook Motel. Police returned the dog to the woman.

Joelle Canard, 25, of 490 Park Ave., Portsmouth, was charged at 11:30 p.m. with domestic simple assault after allegedly striking a man in the head with a thrown cell phone.
