bridgetolls20Rhode Islanders oppose a toll on the Sakonnet River Bridge by a wide margin, a poll of 506 registered voters reveals.

Fifty-seven percent of those asked said they oppose tolls on the bridge, 35 percent supported tolls and 8 percent said they were uncertain,

“Everyone knew that people on Aquidneck (Island) were opposed to them, but now we can see statewide that there’s substantial opposition too, said pollster Joseph Fleming, whose company Fleming & Associates conducted the telephone poll.

The poll, done for The Providence Journal and WPRI TV12, has a margin of error of about 4 percent. Results were announced Wednesday morning.

iT DOESNT MATTER HOW MANY POLLS ARE TAKEN, MOST PEOPLE DID NOT WANT THE BRIDGED TOLLED, HOWEVER OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS DID AND THEY WON. THY CREATED A NEED TO MAINTAIN THE BRIDGES, HOWEVER OTHER BRIDGES IN RI ARE FREE. A EAST BAY REP JUST GOT A TAX FREE HOLIDAY ON LIQUOR, HOW MUCH MONEY WILL THE STATE LOOSE? DROP THE TOLLS AND RETAX ALCOHOL
