Police logs: Warren child escapes serious injury in accident

Monday, August 6

Joshua Sousa, 25, of Bristol, was arrested by Bristol police on a warrant for evading a taxicab fare.

A Main Street man told police that someone spray-painted graffiti on his truck.

Police were called out to a neighborhood dispute on Arlington Avenue.

Police were called to Long Lane to keep the peace.

A group of teens were dispersed from Market Street.

Police were called to a neighborhood dispute on Wood Street.

Police received a call about a possible drunk driver on Metacom Avenue. Police pulled the car over and reported that the driver was sober, but had a medical condition.

Rachel E. Benoit, 31, of 11 Davis St., second floor, was arrested on an East Providence warrant for felony larceny over $1,500.

Tuesday, August 7

Anthony W. Russo, 26, of 342 Main St., Apt. 7, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault/battery after police were called to a distrubance at Main and Joyce streets at 12:33 a.m.

The animal control officer picked up a litter of kittens.

The animal control officer was called about a loose dog on Homestead Avenue.

A Cranberry Lane resident complained about the noise given off by her neighbor’s pool filter.

A loose dog was spotted on Highview Avenue.

Police got a call about a suspicious man on Kelly Street.

Wednesday, August 8

Two loose dogs were called in on Barton Avenue.

Fire crews put out a smoldering mulch fire on Asselin Street. Chief Al Galinelli reported finding a cigarette butt in the mulch, and advised the person responsible about safety.

A mother brought her unruly seven-year-old in to the station for a good talking to.

A Bee Jay Court resident called police after finding a snake in the house, but the animal control officer had no record of the call.

A caller reported two cars racing into town from Swansea on Route 103.

Police received a call about a hare with a “grievous” injury. It turns out the injury was caused by another animal.

An Ellis Avenue resident reported a stolen bike.

A Union Street resident said a neighbor was using loud, vulgar language.

Thursday, August 9

A Market Street resident reported that scrap metal was stolen overnight.

A caller told police his ex-girlfriend was harassing him at his place of work, and over the phone.

Bret Caizzi, 23, of Bristol, was cited for driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, after police pulled him over on Main Street at 10:56 a.m.

A two-year-old was bitten by a dog on Arlington Avenue.

A Water Street resident reported being harassed by a neighbor.

An aggressive driver was spotted on Child Street.

A group of kids was dispersed on Market Street.

Friday, August 10

Michael D. Harris, 28, of 61 Union St., was picked up on two bench warrants issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

Graffiti was reported on the side of a Cutler Street building.

Police removed an unwanted man from a Cutler Street residence.

Police got a call about a bat inside a Manning Street home. The animal control officer picked up the animal and brought it to the state Department of Health for testing.

A man was reported panhandling at Main and Washington streets.

Telephone harassment was reported on Arlington Avenue.

A bat was reported inside a Fatima Drive home.

A caller from Wheaton Street told police a friend backed into his car.

A caller said a child was “boogie boarding” down his flooded driveway.

Police received a host of flooding calls, many of them from the area just south of the Warren River bridge. Another call came in from the animal shelter, which partially flooded.

Stephen D. Turcotte Jr., 34, of 11 Handy St., was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

Saturday, August 11

The owner of a Park Street landlord reported that a tenant who was being evicted harassed him.

Neighbors were reported arguing on Cutler Street.

A barking dog complaint came in from Union Street.

A possible verbal domestic was called in on Davis Street. It turned out to be no problem; just a man yelling at himself.

Loud music was called in on Milwaukee Avenue.

An unwanted person was reported at a Main Street building.

Padro A. Cabral, 52, of East Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 9:34 p.m.

Loud music was reported on Main Street.

Sunday, August 12

Police received a call about a loud party at 12:25 a.m.

Two men were reported fighting on the bike path, near Franklin Street, at 1 a.m.

A Union Street resident reported a cooking mishap.

A Main Street resident reported items missing from his apartment.

A caller told police at 2:28 p.m. that two men with open bottles of beer were walking down the street.

An Oak Street resident complained of smoke from a neighbor’s fire pit.

A Child Street man reported an argument with his wife.

A young bicyclist was struck by a car at Child Street and Arlington Avenue. He was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Fire chief Al Galinelli said the child was fine, and was just taken to the hospital as a precaution.

A man called police after finding an elastic band with “questionable” writing on it.

Police dispersed a group of kids from Child Street after receiving a call about three to five of them fighting.

Monday, August 13

A Touisset Road man called police at 12:47 a.m. to report that a neighbor was having a loud party.
Thereselee Asselin, 43, of 1 Hanley Lane, was cited for driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, after police spotted a suspicious car, unoccupied but with the lights on, on Miller Street at 2:21 a.m. Police located Ms. Asselin six minutes later.

Police picked up two residents wanted on warrants out of Sixth Division District Court. Arrested were Jamel Dixon, 33, of 599 Main St., first floor, and Shannon M. Dixon, 32, of the same address.

A Market Street resident called police at 8:52 a.m. and reported that a repo company was attempting to take his car.

A woman reported harassment.

Items were reported stolen from a Main Street home.

Craig J. Silvia, 23, of 35 State St., was cited for driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 3:30 p.m.

A loose dog was spotted on Bridge Street.

Giancarlos Rodriguez, 20, of 170 Child St, was cited fro driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license after police pulled him over on Water Street at 7:34 p.m.

A Central Avenue resident reported ID fraud.

Tuesday, August 14

Michael E. Brum,42, of East Providence, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court, after police pulled him over on Arlington Avenue at 6:18 a.m..
