Warren police getting three new cruisers

The Warren Police Department is getting three nice new rides — Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors. The Warren Town Council last week approved a $99,000 bid from a Marlborough, Ma. dealer to sell the department three new cruisers; they’ll be delivered in 60 to 90 days. Warren Police Chief Peter Achilli said the cars are long overdue, as the town has not bought new ones since the 2008-09 fiscal year. He said repair costs for the department’s existing fleet have been mounting, and having three new Crown Vics (for a total of 13 cruisers once they’re delivered) will help.
