Tiverton police: four drivers charged, two as drunk, two with drugs

Thursday, Dec. 20

Ernest Joseph Cordeiro, 24, of 145 Grinnell Avenue, Tiverton, was charged at 10 p.m. with possession of marijuana, driving while in possession of a controlled substance, and a traffic violation (headlights).

Sunday, Dec. 23

At 6:11 p.m., Joshua Arruda, 28, of Swansea, was charged with two counts of possession of a scheduled drug, possession of marijuana, driving while in possession of a controlled substance, and three traffic violations (interior lights, speeding, and seat belt).

At 9:49 p.m., Jaimee Oliveira, 55, of 301 Bulgarmarsh Road, Apt. #77, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test, and five traffic violations ( speeding more than 11 mph over the limit, seat belt, lack of insurance, presence of alcohol in the car, improper passing).

Tuesday, Dec. 25

At 7:48 p.m., Joseph Alcocer, 31, of Middletown, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to both a preliminary breathalyzer test and a breathalyzer test, and four traffic violations (wrong lane, faster than prudent speed, faster than conditions would safely allow, and improper lane).

Wednesday, Dec. 26

At 3:59 a.m., Kendra Melo, 31, of Taunton, was charged with domestic assault.
