Tiverton police: drunk driver busted on Route 24


Tuesday, Dec. 4

After a stop on Route 24 at 11:30 p.m., Michael Moniz, 25, of Fall River, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test, refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test, and five traffic violations (speeding more than 11 mph over the limit, using the breakdown lane for travel, lane violations, driving with an invalid license, and failing to turn on his interior lights when pulled over following a traffic stop).

Monday, Dec. 3

At 10:31 p.m., Valerian Valles, 42, of Portsmouth, was charged with obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duties.


Thursday, Dec. 6

Corey Farias, 19, of Acushnet, was charged at 2:05 a.m. under a 2nd District Court bench warrant and for driving with an invalid license.

Monday, Dec. 10

At 8:57 a.m., Robert P. Powell, 43, of 14 Evans Avenue, Tiverton, was charged with  domestic disorderly conduct.
