EAST PROVIDENCE — Jimarl Tunstall, the so-called “person of interest” in a recent stabbing incident, turned himself into East Providence Police and is expected to be arraigned in District Court Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13.

Mr. Tunstall, 41 and a city resident, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon for his involvement in the stabbing of Nuno Veiga early Sunday morning, Nov. 11, at the East Bay Tavern located on Lyon Avenue near Pierce Field.

East Providence Police said Veiga, 25, of Pawtucket, was stabbed in the face and torso outside the bar at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday. He was later treated at Rhode Island Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Mr. Veiga was also charged with disorderly conduct for his involvement in a fight that allegedly led to the stabbing.
