PORTSMOUTH — A male driver was temporarily trapped inside his vehicle after it rolled over at the corner of East Main Road and Sprague Street late Monday afternoon.

At 4:08 p.m. the Fire Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a rollover accident at the intersection of East Main Rd and Sprague St., according to Deputy Fire Chief Michael P. O’Brien.

Firefighters arrived to find a man trapped in the vehicle, which was resting on its passenger side. Crews stabilized the vehicle and spent 10 minutes extricating the man before putting him on a backboard, he said.

Rescue 3 transported the patient to Rhode Island Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, Deputy Chief O’Brien said.
