Portsmouth police charge 8 with DUI over weekend

Portsmouth police patchPORTSMOUTH — It was a busy weekend for the Portsmouth Police Department, which arrested eight people for driving while intoxicated from Friday night through early Sunday morning.

One of the drivers was also charged with possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

The department added increased patrols over the weekend due to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Newport, according to Detective Lt. Albert J. Bucci.

The following people were all charged with driving while intoxicated:

• Christine E. Connell, 48, of 221 Chases Lane, Middletown, was arrested Friday at 10:07 p.m.

• Stephanie K. Vaye, 21, of 521 West Ave., Pawtucket, was arrested Saturday at 4:56 p.m.

• Jessica M. Bowley, 31, of 5500 Fall River Ave., Apt. 3, Fall River, was arrested Saturday at 5:16 p.m. She was also charged with disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

• Jonathan P. Knight, 53, of 74 Table Rock Road, Wakefield, was arrested Saturday at 7:15 p.m.

• Daniel Joseph IV, 26, of 43 Luther St., Seekonk. Mr. Joseph was also charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test.

• Micah R. Scott, 23, of 19 School Brook Road, Fall River, was arrested Saturday at 8:14 p.m. and also charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test.

• Christian D. Fortune, 33, of 94 Banville Road, Somerset, was arrested Saturday at 11:32 p.m. and also charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test.

• Brianne Desvergnes, 24, of 17 Westchester St., Littleton, Mass., was arrested Sunday at 2:06 a.m. and also charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test. In addition, Ms. Desvergnes was charged with possession of a scheduled substance (hallucinogenic mushrooms).
