Portsmouth police arrest 2 at underage drinking party

Monday, June 25

Matthew R. Maisen, 32, of 21 Evergreen Drive, Portsmouth, was charged with domestic assault at about 9 p.m. after a woman came into the police station to file a complaint. She said Mr. Maisen had punched her in the forehead, leaving a welt.

Tuesday, June 26

Daniel P. Eardley, 60, of 264 Gibbs Ave., Newport, was charged with domestic assault. Police made the arrest after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance at a Homestead Lane home at around 3:45 p.m.

Barbara L. Krensavage, 56, of 76 Lambie Circle, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test at about 9:15 p.m. Police responded to the Clements’ Marketplace parking lot after a witness reported that a driver seem disoriented.

Wednesday, June 27

Police responded to the area of 474 Park Ave. at about 1:15 a.m. for a report of a hit-and-run accident. Robin Trauth told police that a black SUV had struck her camper, which then hit a Volkswagon Jetta owned by her friend, Eric Eminger. She said the driver exited his vehicle to observe the damage and then drove off toward Boyd’s Lane. Police said the SUV most likely sustained heavy damage to its front, passenger side.

Thursday, June 28

David J. Dickens, 57, of Warwick, was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to the area of the Mt. Hope Animal Hospital at about 12:45 p.m. for a report of a fight in progress. Another man, Frank Koch, told police he was operating his vehicle on Boyd’s Lane when he saw Mr. Dickens lying on his side in a driveway. Mr. Koch pulled over to check on Mr. Dickens and helped him across the road into the parking lot of the animal hospital, he told police. Mr. Dickens then became belligerent and tried to punch Mr. Koch in the face, police said.

Vehicles driven by Paul E. Barclay Detolly of Portsmouth and Kisang Park of Riverside collided on East Main Road near Crossing Court at about 4 p.m. Mr. Park sustained cuts to his hand and was taken by rescue workers to Newport Hospital. His vehicle was towed from the scene by Ray’s Towing.

John E. Peterson Duponte, 26, of 29 North St., Portsmouth, was charged on a bench warrant issued from Second District Court. Police made the arrest after responding to the area of 31 North Drive around 7 p.m. for a report of a disturbance in progress involving two males.

Two men were arrested after police responded to a report of an underage drinking party at 52 Sakonnet Drive at about 11:20 p.m. Police arrived to find a large group of individuals entering and exiting a shed located behind the residence. Lawrence A. Tashjian, 18, of 52 Sakonnet Drive, was charged with underage possession of alcohol and obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duties. Philip Duckett, 19, of 470 Sandy Point Ave., was charged with possession of a scheduled drug (“Mollies”) and police said there was also an active bench warrant for his arrest. Several open containers of alcohol were in and around the shed and a small bag of marijuana was seized, police said.

Friday, June 29

Tyler A. Allott, 18, of 25 Jay St., Portsmouth, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense), refusal to submit to a chemical test and underage possession of alcohol after police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Park Avenue near Cedar Avenue around 1:05 a.m.

Michael A. Yazel, 64, of 47 Cottage Ave., was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless driving, obstructing an officer in the execution of his duties, resisting arrest and refusal to submit to a chemical test around 9:30 p.m. A patrol officer stopped Mr. Yazel’s car in the area of Boyd’s Lane and Park Avenue because it was being operated erratically, police said. Police said Mr. Yazel became belligerent and repeatedly cursed at officers.
